"It was a pleasure to discover that a well-designed database could be so powerful and yet so user-friendly. The data is so easy to access that it makes the system a joy to use. And the help and technical support from the BH&A team in setting it up was faultless."

EGTA >

EGTA is a non profit trade association representing over 80 radio and TV sales houses and channels across Europe.

The fact that we are regarded as our members' portal to the European advertising industry means we need to be fast, efficient and on the ball at all times. In a world where deadlines are becoming tighter and tighter yet the data to be provided are more and more complex, there is only so much a company can do if it is to continue to increase the boundaries of what it has to offer.

EGTA decided to invest in systems, which allow us to not only to live up to clients' expectations, but to stay one step ahead of these expectations at all times. Working with BH&A has allowed us to do this. The move from a paper environment to a user-friendly IT solution has meant a huge difference in terms of both time and staff resources. The information we are able to collate and then circulate thanks to the BH&A database, which we call the ‘c000 database’, has made egta one of the leaders in our field. The system provides the possibility of an unprecedented number of cross-referencing options as well as the ‘secured’ publication of European statistics well ahead of the rest of the market.

Equally important for the efficiency of an association with members spread across 35 countries, is the BH&A-designed internal ‘Contacts&Events’ database we use to cover all event logistics, contact details, diaries, outlook management and detailed client histories. Without requiring any in-depth knowledge of the software, egta and our clients are able to access and manipulate reliable data with a level of efficiency that has yet to be matched.

FileMaker helps with sales at the ‘Maison&Objet’ Show >

Thanks to the solution developed by BH&A for Luz Interiors using FileMaker Mobile, sales at the Maison&Objet Show have never been so straightforward.

In order to facilitate sales when presenting at trade shows, Luz Interiors was looking for a way to integrate a sales system using a bar code compatible with both the Palm OS and Pocket PC. Today, the BH&A solution based on FileMaker Mobile technology makes it possible for sales people to encode an order very easily thanks to a bar-code reader, and to edit from a PC the document to be handed to the client.

Philippe Michiels, Managing Director of Luz Interiors S.A. (http://www.luz-interiors.com) said that “The FileMaker developer BH&A, which has been working with us for more than six years, has become an essential player within the framework of our activities as a manufacturer and wholesaler of articles for decorating the home. Given this successful collaboration, we asked them to develop a barcode system that would enable us to easily encode our clients’ orders during the many trade shows at which we exhibit. The solution developed around Filemaker Mobile has proved to be both less expensive and easier to implement, leading to a considerable improvement in our productivity.”

The advantages of the BH&A solution summarized in a few words:
- A simple and adaptable solution for many situations and for the most complex items.
- Investment reduced to the minimum, less than half the cost of the existing solutions.
- Timesaving in encoding, scanning and synchronisation.
- A rapid development and deployment.
- A progressive solution thanks to FileMaker Mobile.
- Compatible with many database systems.
- Compatible with the Palm OS and PocketPC.
