FM xLayoutAssistant™ is an AppleScript Application developed by Clément Hoffmann to ensure you always have a layout containing all of a table's fields.
Even better, those fields are named objects.
Not clear? Quite understandable: this simply is a revolution.
We're providing you with a sample script to help you realise what can be accomplished, if you’re sure that all of your table's fields are on a utility layout. It is nothing short of a dynamic set field ! It allows you to define the name of the field you want to set by calculation, just as you would if FileMaker provided a native script step. Another neat feature is that, if you have full access to the file, you can look at calculation formulas in 'browse' mode and 'layout' mode : they simply are in the field tooltip!
